Ever read JoeDaFrogman or watch his videos? The dude is a genius at this game:

When I say "Decide to Win", what I mean here is that your decisions every second of every game could be the difference between a win and a loss.   Every decision you make is critical.     If you want to win more, you need to learn how to read the map constantly, and DECIDE "what is the best thing to do right now, to win".  Sometimes, you need to decide to cap,  Sometimes you need to decide to stay away from the cap.  Sometimes, you need to decide to defend.    Sometimes you need to decide to re-enforce a weak flank.   Sometimes you need to decide to GTHO of where you are because the numbers say "GET OUT!"   Sometimes you need to decide to drive an extra 5 meters and eat a shot so you can KILL a low HP tank instead of peek-a-booing the easier tank to fight against.   ALWAYS you need to examine your play at the end of each match and determine if you did everything you could to win or if there was some key moment you could have done differently, then you need to learn from that moment and do better next time.

Every decision you make, can potentially be the key moment that will win or lose the match.

You need to decide that you are going to try to win every match.  Then you need to decide that you can't win every match and that's ok if you lose some.

...and then I posted:

Awesome post as always Joe.
This goes along with keeping the initiative.
I see other players doing what I used to do and that's giving away the initiative.
"I'm going to sit here and defend this [flank, hill, etc.] because nobody else is." You shouldn't be either!
It's not an infantry game. Nobody has to dig in and defend that hill. Tanks don't do dat.
They let the reds come to them and try to fight them with a passive, defensive posture. They die and lose.
The trick is to keep the upper hand by engaging the enemy on your terms with an aggressive, offensive posture.
You can only do that by keeping the initiative, or as you put it:
Deciding to win, every second of the game.

Indeed, great post. I have realized that about this game. Every second and every decision matters. I have never played another game that is quite like that.

I used to play a lot of Halo 1. The only thing that mattered was how good you were at making headshots with the pistol. You played like a zombie hunting brains, throwing grenades all over the place, but if you knew how to make headshots, you wrecked folks.

Knowing how to shoot is like 30% of this game.

I am convinced that most of WOT players do not know that there is a map button on there controller, which is fine allows better seal clubbing.
Good thread E.
